Technique

Joao Miguel is a painter who mixes impressionist and realist techniques. Always using real landscapes and live models, he applies his impressionist vision, with varying intensity, to achieve the desired result.

His work is done solely using oil colors over canvas. His tool is a paint knife which he uses with subtle hand movements, depositing patches of colors in diverse volumes and directions. This results in a unique work of art, presenting a depth and dimensional aspect that are the main characteristics of his paintings.
